Set up your Retail POS (X-Series) account

Set up your outlets (locations) and registers.
Create your users (employees). These user roles allow you to set levels of access for different staff members.
Set up your receipt template to print the details you desire.
Create and assign tax rates to meet local requirements.
Confirm hardware compatibility and set up hardware
We understand that you'll be eager to bring over your existing hardware; below you can confirm compatibility and set up the hardware you already have, and if necessary, order any new hardware required:
Check the Supported Hardware guide to confirm if your current hardware (receipt printer, barcode scanner, etc) is compatible with Retail POS (X-Series). Setup instructions are also included.
For any hardware that is not supported, order new hardware from your local suppliers.
Set up your payments

Already using Lightspeed Payments? Visit the Lightspeed Payments section of the Help Center to find setup steps for your device. You’ll also find guides on how to configure your optional settings, make a sale, handle refunds, run reports, and understand how you get paid.
If you're not currently signed up for Lightspeed Payments, you can learn more here.
Other payment options
Integrated payments save time by linking Retail POS to your payment terminal and third-party payment services. Contact us here to discuss the best integrated payment option for you.
Non-integrated payments are manually processed. These require you to type the payment amount into the payment terminal, then enter the payment in Retail POS to confirm the payment is accepted. We strongly recommend using integrated payments where possible.
