Setting up the WisePOS E terminal with Lightspeed Payments for Vend

Lightspeed Payments provides everything you need to process sales and get paid. To get set up with Lightspeed Payments in Vend, follow the steps below:

Supported payment terminal

  • WisePOS E (Mac, PC and iPad)

Setting up

1. Setting up the WisePOS E terminal

The WisePOS E terminal is quick and easy to set up with Lightspeed Payments.

When you receive your payment terminal, the box will contain:

  • 1 WisePOS E terminal
  • 1 power cable
  • 1 USB to USB-C cable
  • 1 battery

Charge the Lightspeed Payments terminal

  1. Open the back of the terminal by lifting up from the indentation at the bottom left-hand corner of the terminal. Insert the battery into the back of the terminal with the gold connectors aligned at the top of the device. Replace the back cover of the terminal.

  2. Connect the terminal to a power source by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning symbol

  3. Once the terminal is fully charged, hold down the power button until the screen turns on

  Tip

Once the terminal is powered on, pressing the power button once will sleep and wake the terminal.

To fully power off the terminal hold down the power button until the power off option is shown on the screen, then select it.

Connect the WisePOS E terminal to Wi-Fi

  1. Open the settings menu by swiping right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a SETTINGS button

  2. Tap the SETTINGS button and enter the admin PIN 07139

  3. Select WI-FI SETTINGS

  4. Select the Wi-Fi network that your Vend POS is also connected to and connect to it

  Important

Your Wi-Fi network must use WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal encryption and be password protected.

Your BBPOS WisePOS E terminal must also be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your Vend register is connected to.

Non-password-protected networks or enterprise networks are not supported

2. Add the Lightspeed Payments Payment Type in Vend
  1. Login to your Vend store using the Account Owner or another Admin user
  2. Navigate to Setup -> Payment Types and click Add Payment Type
  3. Select Lightspeed Payments from the payment type dropdown

  4. Click Next
  5. Follow the Lightspeed Payments login and setup prompts
  6. Once back in Vend, input a Display Name for the payment type

  7. Select which Outlets you wish this payment type to be available for
  8. Continue to Lightspeed Payments terminal the pairing section below
3. Pairing the WisePOS E terminal to Vend
  1. On the Lightspeed Payments terminal, open the settings menu by swiping right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a SETTINGS button

  2. Tap the SETTINGS button and enter the admin PIN 07139

  3. Select GENERATE PAIRING CODE

  4. In Vend, navigate to Setup -> Payment Types and click the edit pencil next to Lightspeed Payments
  5. On the Lightspeed Payments setup page, click Pair a Terminal in the Pair Registers section
  6. Select the register the terminal will be paired to on the Register dropdown

  7. Enter the Terminal Pairing Code you generated earlier and the Terminal Name

  8. Click Pair Register

  9. Click Save Payment Type
iOS Only: Pairing the WisePOS E to iPad
  1. Open the Vend iPad app and tap the Menu icon

  3. In the Lightspeed Payments section, tap Connect to wifi terminal

  4. The terminal has been successfully connected when Connected to WisePOS E is displayed in the Lightspeed Payments sectionScreen_Shot_2021-11-16_at_1.57.54_PM.png
