    5. This will also automatically generate a pairing code that will be used to pair your terminal with Retail POS. Make note of this code to be used later.

      Important

Your Wi-Fi network must use WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal encryption and be password protected.

Your WisePOS E terminal must also be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your Retail POS register is connected to.

Non-password-protected networks or enterprise networks are not supported

  • Connecting the WisePOS E terminal via Ethernet

To connect the WisePOS E terminal to the internet via ethernet, follow the steps below:

Your terminal will immediately connect to the internet and will remain charged through the dock.

If you wish to remove the terminal from the dock, you'll need to make sure the terminal is connected to your Wi-Fi network to remain operational.

      Important

The BBPOS WisePOS E will prioritize an Ethernet connection when possible. Even if previously configured for WiFi, the reader will switch to using an Ethernet connection when connected to the dock with a plugged-in Ethernet cable. If the reader is removed from the dock, it will switch back to the WiFi connection.

The BBPOS WisePOS E resets its priority to Ethernet when rebooting. Even if the terminal was previously configured for WiFi, the reader will switch to Ethernet if it detects an Ethernet cable connection while starting up.

If the reader is docked but there is no Ethernet cable plugged in, it will use WiFi. Regardless of how it is connected while docked, you can still choose to connect to WiFi and manage networks on the device.
