Importing products from WooCommerce into Retail POS (X-Series) caused duplicate products to be created

Problem

Importing products from WooCommerce created duplicates with "Duplicate Created from WooCommerce" in the product name.

Cause

This occurs when products are imported into WooCommerce with duplicate names but different SKUs from the products in Retail POS.

Solution

To prevent this from happening ensure that SKUs match between Retail POS and WooCommerce before importing your products.

Follow these instructions to fix the issue:

  1. Delete the duplicate products in Retail POS (this will delete the products on WooCommerce as well).

  2. Manually publish the non-duplicate Retail POS product back to WooCommerce and, if the SKU matches, it will link to the product.
