Using the Reporter (X-Series) app for iOS

Keep an eye on your Retail POS store, even when you’re not there, from your iOS device! The Reporter app for iOS puts your store’s data right in your pocket, giving you the peace of mind to step away without missing a beat.

Using the Reporter app

Signing in on your iOS device

Once downloaded, admin and manager users can sign into the Reporter app. Follow the steps below to sign in:

  1. Navigate through the welcome screen using the Next button to progress

  2. Enter your Store name and tap Next

  3. Enter your Email or Username and Password, and tap Sign in to Retail POS

Only admin and manager users can sign into the Reporter app. Cashier users will need to be upgraded to admin or manager status to gain access to the Reporter app.

Home Dashboard

Once signed in, Reporter gives you full access to the Retail POS Home Dashboard, which correlates core retail metrics into charts that display day-to-day data to track sales.

These can be filtered by Today, This Week and This Month time periods using the hover bar. Here you can also filter by outlet, with the default set to All Outlets.

  Important

Advanced Metrics are only available to retailers that are on Pro, Advanced or Enterprise plans. To learn more about plans and pricing, click here.

The default display is made up of My Sales Performance, Gross Profit and Top Products Sold metrics. More can be added and removed by taping the Show More Retail Metrics button.

Here you can add displays for Revenue, Sales with Customer, Sale Count, Average Sale Value Average Items per Sale, Discounted, and Top Sales People.

Lightspeed-Reporter-X-Home-Dashboard-Retail-Metrics.PNGEach of these metrics is calculated from a specific report in Retail POS. You can tap View Report on each metric display to be taken to the full report for more comprehensive data.

Refresh data

To refresh the reporting data, tap the refresh icon on the top left.

Adding Reporter widgets

You don't even need to open Reporter to get your core metrics — quickly reference your core metrics from your iPhone and iPod Home Screen, or iPad Today View, using the Reporter widget!

The widget can be configured to display Revenue, Margin, Gross Profit, Total Tax, Discount, or Sale Count metrics; and you can up all 6 widgets to your Home Screen or Today View for full coverage

The default Revenue metric widget is available on all plans. Additional metric widgets are only available to retailers on Pro, Advanced or Enterprise plans. To learn more about plans and pricing, click here.

Add to iPhone and iPod

  1. From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle
  2. Tap the Add (+) button in the upper-left corner
  3. Select the Reporter widget, then tap Add Widget
  4. To change the metric, tap on the widget and select from the dropdown
  5. Tap Done

Add to iPad

  1. Swipe all the way to the right on your Home Screen to show Today View.
  2. Tap Edit or hold an empty area in Today View, then tap the Add (+) button
  3. Select the Reporter widget, then tap Add Widget
  4. To change the metric, tap on the widget and select from the dropdown
  5. Tap Done in the upper-right corner, or just tap your Home Screen.

Additional Retail POS functionality

Additional Retail POS functionality, such as Reporting, Catalog, Inventory, Customers, and Setup, can be accessed via the Menu navigation for monitoring and review purposes.

Sales cannot be processed using Reporter and the Sell screen is not accessible via the Menu.
