Basic troubleshooting for payment terminals

Objective

How do I know if my terminal is ready to be paired with Vend?

Every terminal has its own nuances but fall in similar patterns based on device manufacturer. We'll take a look at some manufacturers such as Ingenico, Dejavoo, & Pax devices.

Setup

  • Ingenico (Desk/Move 5000, iCT250/200, iSC250, iPP320, iSMP4, etc...)
  • Dejavoo (Z series)
  • Pax (S300, D210, etc...)

Ingenico

  • Need to have Semi-Integrated enabled, Communications Type set (Ethernet/Wifi), and Receipt Options set according to payment partner
  • Home screen says 'Welcome/Bonjour'
  • Internet is usually indicated by a symbol seen on the home screen

Dejavoo

  • Minimal modifications on terminal, should be plug in and play
  • Internet connection can be confirmed once Home screen says 'POS Online'
  • If the Home screen says 'POS Offline', please double check the terminal's connectivity to the internet network. If the Home screen states a message other than POS Online/Office, please get in touch with Vend Support

Pax

  • Minimal modifications on terminal, should be plug in and play
  • Internet connection can be confirmed once Home screen says 'POS Online'
  • If the Home screen says 'POS Offline', please double check the terminal's connectivity to the internet network. If the Home screen states a message other than POS Online/Office, please get in touch with Vend Support
