Why isn’t a promotion applying to the Sell Screen

Problem

There is currently a promotion set up in my account but it's not applying to any sales. What can cause this? 

Setup

  • Vend for Mac or PC
  • Vend on iPad 

Cause

  • Data needs to be reset
  • Customer is not part of the customer group
  • Signed into the wrong outlet
  • Dates are not valid 
  • Terms of the promotion are not met on the sale

Solution

Data needs to be reset

On iPad 

  1. Tap to open the side menu
  2. Tap the green Online button
  3. Tap Sync all data

On Mac or PC

  1. Click Sell
  2. Click Status
  3. Click Reset Data

Customer is not part of the customer group

  1. Click Products
  2. Click Promotions
  3. Search for the promotion
  4. Search for the promotion and click on it to expand it
  5. Click View Products
  6. Under Customer Groups you can view which customers the promotion is assigned to
  7. Find the customer that was added to the sale
  8. Make sure they are in the correct customer group

Signed into the wrong outlet 

  1. Click Products
  2. Click Promotions
  3. Search for the promotion
  4. Under Available On you will see which outlets the promotion is assigned to
  5. Click Sell
  6. In the top right corner, make sure you are signed into the correct outlet 

Dates not valid

  1. Click Products
  2. Click Promotions
  3. Search for the promotion
  4. View the Start Date and the End Date on the promotion 

Terms of the promotion are not met on the sale

  1. Click Products
  2. Click Promotions
  3. Search for the promotion and click on it to expand it
  4. Click View Products
