Before Getting Started

The PayPoint Plus for iPad is an All-In-One point-of-sale (POS) solution. The system comes with a rotating touchscreen display, fully-integrated peripherals - 2D barcode scanner, 3-inch receipt printer, encryptable MSR, and full-sized 16-inch cash drawer. In addition are multiple ports for third-party peripherals (e.g.; extra cash drawer).

Important - The MagTeek Dynamag Magnetic Stripe Reader cannot be used to take payments in Vend.

Initial Setup (Bluetooth and App)

  1. Open the iPad settings
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the iPad
  3. Under 'My Devices', tap on the 'TSP100-XXXXXX' device to connect to the PayPoint Plus

  4. Go back to the Home screen and launch the App Store
  5. Search and download the "Elo Paypoint Framework App"

Setup and Test the PayPoint Plus

  1. Launch the Elo PayPoint Framework App
  2. Go to the 'Printer' section
  3. Tap Printer Setup

  4. Select the "TSP143IIIBI" printer and make sure the "Auto Connection" and "New Pairing Permission" settings are enabled

  5. Tap anywhere on the screen to close the dialog
  6. Tap Test Printer to test if the printer is functioning properly
  7. Go to the "Cash Drawer" area
  8. Tap Open Cash Drawer 1 to test if the cash drawer is functioning properly

  9. If you have a second cash drawer connected to the device via the RJ12 port, tap Open Cash Drawer 2 to test its functionality
  10. Go to the 'Barcode' section

  11. The barcode laser should immediately turn on. Place a sample barcode in front of the scanner and if data is displayed in the window then the scanner is working properly
  12. By default, the barcode reader is set to 'Presentation Mode'. To test 'Manual Mode', tap the Manual Mode option at the bottom of the screen
  13. To configure scanner, you can enter in commands to switch it between modes. Some modes include:
    TERMID130. - VCP Mode (Virtual COM Port)
    TERMID124. - USB Keyboard Mode
    TERMID131. - USB HID Mode
    PWRIDL0. - To disable the white illumination light when scanner is not in use
    Hit Send Command after entering in the command codes and your device should 'beep' to tell you its successful
  14. Go to the 'CFD' section
  15. Tap Try Again and Clear. If the CFD is working properly, it should display a "Elo Touch PayPoint" message or no message based on the option selected

Updating the Firmware

  1. Go to the '...More' and then 'Advance' section

  2. Tap Check for Update
  3. Select the latest firmware version
  4. Tap Confirm
