How to troubleshoot a SSL error on the Scanner app

Objective

Troubleshoot an SSL error which does not allow the Scanner app to open on your iPad or iPhone.

Setup

  • Scanner app

Steps

Re-connect your device to your network to refresh the connection

  1. On your iPad/iPhone home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap WiFi 
  3. Tap the button to turn off Wifi
  4. Press and hold the power button until Slide to power off is displayed
  5. Swipe the Slide to power off slider
  6. Press and hold the power button until your device turns back on
  7. On your iPad/iPhone home screen, tap Settings
  8. Tap WiFi
  9. Tap the button to turn on Wifi and re-connect to your network 
  10. On your iPad/iPhone home screen tap the Scanner app and log in

Update the Scanner app

  1. In the app store, search for the Vend app
  2. If the Scanner app says Update, tap this to update your app

Update you IOS version

  1. On your iPad/iPhone home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Software Update
  4. If there is an update available, tap Download and install
