Problem

Sending an on account sale to Xero returns the error 'We couldn't find the customer [NAME] attached to this sale in Xero because it has been archived or merged'

 Setup

  • Vend for Mac or PC
  • Xero integration 

Cause

  • The customer assigned to the on account sale has been archived/merged in Xero
  • The customer in Vend is not correctly linked to the customer in Xero

Solution

The customer assigned to the on account sale has been archived/merged in Xero

  1. Click View archived contacts in Xero on the error message
  2. If the customer on the sale appears in the list, restore the customer

The customer in Vend is not correctly linked to the customer in Xero

  • If the customer is not archived in Xero, reach out to the Vend support team for further assistance.
