Xero error: 'The contact with the specified contact details has been archived'

Problem

Sending an on account sale to Xero returns the error 'The contact with the specified contact details has been archived. Xero can't find this customer because they've been archived or merged'

 Setup

  • Vend for Mac or PC
  • Xero integration 

Cause

  • The customer assigned to the on account sale has been archived/merged in Xero
  • The customer in Vend is not correctly linked to the customer in Xero

Solution

The customer assigned to the on account sale has been archived/merged in Xero

  1. In Xero, click Contacts
  2. Click the Archived tab on the right
  3. Search for the customer name
  4. If the customer appears, restore the customer

The customer in Vend is not correctly linked to the customer in Xero

  • If the customer is not archived in Xero, reach out to the Vend support team for further assistance.
