How to troubleshoot the Retail POS (X-Series) iPad app

Objective

Resolve glitches and issues within the Retail POS (X-Series) iPad app.  

Setup

  • Retail POS on iPad 

Steps

1. Update the Retail POS app

  1. In the app store, search for the Lightspeed Retail POS (X) app
  2. If the Retail POS app says Update, tap this to update your app

2. Update your iOS Version

  1. On your iPad's home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Software update 
  4. If there is an update available, tap Download and install 

3. Clear the iPad Cache

  1. On your iPad's home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap Safari
  3. Tap Clear history and website data 

4. Delete and reinstall the Retail POS (X-Series) app

  Important

Please note that deleting and reinstalling the Retail POS app should be used as a last resort. You must follow the troubleshooting steps above prior to deleting and reinstalling.

  1. Tap and hold the Retail POS app
  2. Tap the 'x' that will appear on the corner of the app
  3. In the app store, search for the Retail POS app
  4. Tap to download the app

Additional information

  • Deleting and reinstalling the Retail POS app will disconnect Retail POS from any hardware/payment processors you are using. 
  • Before deleting the app, make sure you have an Apple ID so you will be able to download the app again
