LAN printer is showing '0' for the IP address

Setup

  • Vend for Mac or PC
  • Vend on iPad
  • LAN printer

Cause

  • Printer is not connected to the router
  • Internet connection issue
  • Physical damage to the printer/router/ethernet cable 

Solution

Printer is not connected to the router

  • Ensure the ethernet cable that connects your printer to your router is plugged in securely
  • Unplug the ethernet cable from the router and reconnect it (use another port on the router if possible)

Internet connection issue

  • Power the router off and on again
  • Contact your ISP (internet service provider) 

Physical damage to the printer/router/ethernet cable

  • If there is physical damage to the the ethernet port on the printer or router OR if the ethernet cable is damaged, your printer will not be able to generate an IP address
