A fractional composite product allows you to sell a fraction of a product. 

Here is an example of what a fractional composite product is:

Imagine you have a standard product which is a bottle of wine. Instead of always selling the whole bottle, you want the option of just selling one glass:



In order to do that you would create a composite product which is made up, for instance, of .25 quantity bottles of wine. This is your fractional composite product.
