How to enable telnet on Windows 10

  • Windows 10 PC


  1. Click the magnifying icon in the lower left-hand corner
  2. Type in Control Panel
  3. On your keyboard, press Enter
  4. Click Search Control Panel
  5. Type in Features
  6. On your keyboard, press Enter
  7. Click Turn Windows features on or off
  8. Scroll down until you find Telnet Client
  9. Click the box to the left (if it is not currently checked)
  10. Click OK

Additional Information

A Windows firewall can block telnet. It may be necessary to make a firewall exception for telnet on your device.
