Multi-save promotions in Retail POS (X-Series)

To get started with multi-save promotions, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to CatalogPromotions and click the Add promotion button on the top right side of the page.

2. Add in all the relevant details for this promotion.

3. In the Type of promotion section, select Advanced to create a multi-save promotion.

The types of multi-save promotions you can create are:


Buy and save off the entire sale

1. To create a "buy and save" promotion, select Buys the following items from the drop-down next to When a customer.

2. Choose All to discount your customer's entire sale. Next, choose the quantity your customer needs to buy to qualify for the promotion discount.

The min/max feature: This feature allows you to set minimum and maximum values for your promotions. For more information on the min/max feature, view this article.

If you wish to set minimum and maximum values for your "buy and save" promotion follow the steps below. If not, skip to step 3.

  • Click Set a min or max.set-a-min-or-max.png
  • Set the minimum and maximum values for your promotion and follow the steps below.

3. Choose what will happen when your customer buys these items. In this case, we want to choose Save a certain amount from the Then they will drop-down.

4. Specify either the percentage or dollar discount applied to specific items, or to the entire sale. In this case we want to choose Off the entire sale.

This will apply the discount to the entire sale.

5. Once you have completed the steps above, you may specify which of your customers are eligible for this promotion in the Target this promotion section.


Buy and save off specific items

1. To create a "buy and save" promotion for specific items, select Buys the following items from the When a customer drop-down.

2. You must specify which products to include in this promotion and how many of them your customer needs to buy to qualify for the promotion discount.

The min/max feature: This feature allows you to set minimum and maximum values for your promotions. For more information on the min/max feature, view this article.

If you wish to set minimum and maximum amounts for your "buy and save" promotion follow the steps below. If not, skip to step 3.

  • Click Set a min or max.set-a-min-or-max.png
  • Set the minimum and maximum values for your promotion and follow the steps below.

3. Choose what will happen when your customer buys these items. In this case, we want to choose Save a certain amount from the Then they will drop-down.

4. Specify either the percentage or dollar discount applied to the items and whether this discount will apply to these items only, or to the entire sale. In this case, we want to choose Off the specific items above.

Please Note: When processing a sale on the sell screen, if the promotion you have set is for a percentage discount, the discount will be applied to the whole sale, whereas a promotion with a dollar discount will be split across each product added to the sale.

For example, if you have set a promotion to buy and save $10; if you have two products on the sell screen, $5 will be taken off each product. In the case of a percentage discount promotion, if the promotion is to buy and save 10%, the 10% discount will be taken off the price of both products together.

This will only apply the discount to the products you have specified.

5. Once you have completed the steps above, you may specify which of your customers are eligible for this promotion in the Target this promotion section.


Spend and save off the entire sale

1. To create a "spend and save" promotion, select Spends the following amount from the drop-down next to When a customer.

2. Specify how much the customer needs to spend to qualify for the promotion discount and choose whether to include either all or some of your products in this promotion.

3. Choose what will happen when your customer qualifies for this promotion. In this case, we want to choose Save a certain amount from the drop-down next to Then they will.

4. Specify either the percentage or dollar discount to be applied to specific items or to the entire sale. In this case, we want to choose Off the entire sale.

This will apply the discount to the entire sale.

3. Choose what will happen when your customer qualifies for this promotion. In this case, we want to choose Save a certain amount from the drop-down next to Then they will.

4. Specify either the percentage or dollar discount applied to the items and whether this discount will apply to these items only, or to the entire sale. In this case we want to choose Off the specific items above.

This will only apply the discount to the products you have specified.

Buy and pay a fixed price

1. To create a "buy and pay a fixed price" promotion, select Buys the following items from the condition drop-down next to When a customer.

2. Specify which products are included in this promotion and how many of them your customer needs to buy to qualify for the promotion.
