Chase is a leading credit card payment processor primarily in Canada. This article will guide you through how to set up Chase in Retail POS on iPad.

1. Create the Chase Payment Type in Retail POS on iPad:
1. Tap the menu icon in the top left to open the side menu bar and choose Dashboard.
2. Once here, click Menu.
3. Head to Setup and choose Payment Types.
4. You should now be on the Payments page. From here, click Add Payment Type and choose Chase under Integrated.
5. Follow the steps in the Pair Card Readers section.
6. Your Chase payment type will now be created. Once you're finished, click Save Payment Type.
2. Put your Chase Terminal into Semi-Integrated Mode:
Now that you have created the Chase payment type, you will need to setup your Chase payment terminal in "Semi-integrated" mode. This is required so that transactions you make in Retail POS will automatically carry across to your payment terminal.
To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Press the .,#* key and enter the manager password provided to you by Chase.
2. In the Admin Menu, use the top arrows to navigate down to option 9 - Misc.Options, select this option using the green button on your Chase payment terminal.
3. Next, in the Misc.Options menu, select 1-Semi-Integrated.
4. In the Semi-Integrated menu, select 1-Enable SemiInteg.
5. Use the top left-hand button (F1) on your terminal pin pad to select On.
6. You will be taken back to the Semi-Integrated menu. Once here, select 2-Communication Type.
7. On the next screen, select 3-Ethernet.
8. Make a note of the terminal IP address, and use the terminal pin pad to enter the Port number 9999. Press the green pin pad button, which will take you back to the Semi-Integrated menu.
Semi-integrated will now be enabled. Press the red pin pad button a number of times, which will then take you back to the Welcome-Bonjour home screen.
3. Find your Terminal IP:
Next, we need to retrieve the IP address for your Chase terminal. This is required to link your payment terminal with Retail POS.
To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Press the Hash Key on your Chase terminal keypad.
2. Next, enter the password that Chase has provided you with.
Note
If the password contains letters, press the relevant number that contains the letter you need, followed by the "F" key, to cycle through letters
3. You are now in the payment terminal menu. In order to retrieve your IP address, navigate through the menu in the following way:
Admin Menu -> Setup Menu -> 2. Communications -> 3. Ethernet -> 1. Current Setup
Note
You may need to enter your password again at this point.
4. Once selecting Current Setup in the menu options, your terminal's IP address will appear. Make a note of this, as it is required for the next steps.
4. Enter the IP in Retail POS:
The final part of the setup requires you to enter your Chase terminal's IP address into Retail POS, to complete the linking process.
To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Open up the Retail POS App on your iPad
2. In Retail POS, go to Menu -> Settings -> Hardware.
3. Swipe down to the bottom of this page and Enter your terminal's IP address under Chase.
4. Make sure the Terminal Port is set to 9999 under this section.
Once these steps are done, your terminal will be linked to Retail POS, and you will be ready to take payments using Chase.
5. Set Static IP address
1. Press the .,#* key and enter the manager password provided to you by Chase.
2. In the Admin Menu, use the top arrows to navigate down to option 3-Setup Menu, select this option using the green pin pad button on your Chase payment terminal.
3. Re-enter the manager password provided to you by Chase.
4. This will take you back to the Setup Menu. Next, select 2-Communications.
5. In the Communications menu, select 3-Ethernet.
6. This will take you to the Ethernet Menu. Next, select 2-Ethernet Setup.
7. In the next screen, select 2-Static IP.
8. You will then be taken back to the Ethernet Menu. Select 1-Terminal IP and enter the IP address you noted earlier in the Step 3 - Find your Terminal step above. Once you have entered the terminal IP address, press the green pin pad button which will take you back to the Ethernet Menu.
Note: to find the Router, Subnet Mask and DNS information on your iPad navigate to Settings -> Wi-Fi -> and select the Wi-Fi network you are connected to.
9. Select 2-Gateway and make sure that the number matches the Router number on your iPad. Press the green pin pad button which will take you back to the Ethernet Menu.
10. Next, select 3-IPSub Mask, and ensure that the Subnet Mask number on your iPad terminal matches the number on your Chase terminal.
11. Next, select 4-PriDNSIP and go to Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Configure DNS. Once here, ensure that the IP address on the terminal is the same as the first IP address in the list of DNS Servers on the iPad.
12. Next, select 5-SecDNSIP and ensure that this IP address is the same as the second IP address in the list of DNS Servers on the iPad. If there is only 1 IP address listed here you can enter 8.8.4.4 in on the Chase terminal.
13. Finally, press the red pin pad button which will cause your Chase Terminal to reboot.
