Hi. How can we help?

Cash management in Retail POS (X-Series)

Cash management allows you to record and track your cash movements within Retail POS, including adding and removing cash floats, cash in and out, petty cash in and out, and register closures.

Cash management is enabled for all retailers by default and cannot be disabled.

For retailers integrated with Xero who want to use cash management, you must follow the steps detailed in our Setting Up Cash Management with Xero guide. If you do not map the correct account codes on the Xero mappings page in Retail POS before making cash movements, these will not be sent to Xero.

Cash management can be used in Retail POS on desktop and iPad. For steps on using cash management, select the platform that you are using from the tabs below:

  • Using cash management on desktop

    1.  Go to Sell > Cash management.

    2. You will be informed that your register is closed and have the option to add an Opening float.

    Petty cash out

Sometimes you might need to take money out of the cash drawer for store expenses such as cleaning products or stationary. Using the petty cash out option will allow you to keep a record of this.

      Important
