What is a SKU?
SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit, and is the unique identifier for a products stock item.
A SKU can be many things. It can be a code you make up and use yourself, or it could be an existing code belonging to the product already, such as the barcode. Using the product barcode as your SKU makes it really easy to scan and look up products with a barcode scanner in Vend. To do this, scan the barcode and Vend will automatically add the product to the sale.
Important: SKU's will only support alphanumeric characters and cannot contain any symbols and spaces. If you notice SKU's aren't scanning or importing correctly, check to make sure they're only made up of numbers or letters and do not contain any symbols such as hyphens, commas or slashes.
